One of the most important factors influencing our well-being is relationships. Most researchers studying well-being emphasize the positive impact of social bonds on our mental and physical health, and even on longevity.
In the workplace, relationships are a source of support and emotional fulfillment. They build a sense of belonging to the team and organization, influence our self-esteem, and enhance empathy and collaboration.
In our report, we explore the role of workplace relationships and their impact on well-being. We also show how strong social bonds and trust improve team effectiveness.

Who we are?
Well.hr was founded in 2018 by us – Ewa, Joanna, and Magda. What brought us together were our experiences in HR and communications, a shared drive to make workplaces better, and the belief that HR is about people and for people — so it should be talked about in a simple and practical way.
We created a great workplace for ourselves, and we do everything we can to make sure the employees of our clients can say the same about theirs.
My name is Ewa Ułamek, and I have 14 years of experience in projects focused on employee engagement, well-being, and employer branding. I have built my expertise working as an HR coordinator, an HR Business Partner, and later as a consultant, collaborating both with large international corporations and local family-owned companies.
My portfolio includes implementing well-being and employer branding strategies, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, driving engagement processes, developing age management initiatives, creating internship and ambassador programs, and designing onboarding processes.
Today, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada—a place I have truly fallen in love with and am proud to call home. I strive to make the most of the opportunities that come with remote work: combining my professional projects with raising two children and discovering a new culture.
My name is Joanna Kotzian, and I have been working in the HR consulting field for over 20 years. I design and implement well-being and employer branding strategies, and I coordinate advisory projects in the areas of employee research, organizational culture, engagement, communication, and diversity. My clients include international corporations as well as some of the largest Polish companies—spanning a wide range of industries. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than hearing that, after implementing my recommendations, employee satisfaction survey results have soared.
In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, reading, and practicing yoga.
My name is Magda Pancewicz, and I have been working in HR and internal communications for over 10 years. I attract talent, build employee engagement and motivation, and support well-being initiatives. I have experience in designing and communicating complex projects in the areas of change management and organizational culture. My professional background spans a variety of industries—from banking to construction—and organizations of different sizes, from startups to corporations employing over 250,000 people.
In my free time, I enjoy running, reading books, and exploring whisky distilleries (though not necessarily all at once).
